Since then, working closely with the worldwide metalworking community,Master Chemical Corporation has developed and marketed a full-line of specialty metalworking fluids, cutting fluids, grinding fluids, milling fluids, cutting oils, concentrated washing compounds, cleaning compounds and rust preventatives all under the TRIM® trademark.

These products are both environmentally sound and when used in conjunction with Master's XYBEX® Coolant Recycling Systems are the most durable and stable products available anywhere today.

1951
Clyde A. Sluhan founded Master Chemical Corporation and revolutionized the
metalworking industry with the creation of the first successful ‘synthetic’ cutting
and grinding fluid: TRIM® REGULAR. This new cutting fluid vastly improved the
environment for the workers by reducing smoke and oil mist associated with
commonly used crude oil-type cutting fluids. In addition, TRIM REGULAR had a
longer use-life to reduce waste and material costs.

1964
TRIM SOL® was introduced. A unique emulsion with a very fine particle size, it is
microbe resistant, leaves a non-oxidized residue, and is extremely ‘kind’ to human
skin. With its release, it featured a much longer sump life than any other soluble oil on the market—meaning less waste and environmental benefits.

1972
In 1972, under the leadership of Clyde Sluhan, Master Chemical introduced the
concept of coolant recycling to the metalworking industry. Initially called the
“closed loop system,” it became the foundation for the XYBEX® line of fluid handling, recycling, and filtration equipment.

2000
In the early 2000s, Master Chemical developed many cleaners to work well at ambient temperatures. Without having to burn more fuel to heat cleaner baths, customers significantly reduced their CO2 emissions.

Today
Master Chemical fluids and equipment, coupled with proper fluid management,
improves the work environment by eliminating mist and odor – and benefits the
global environment by reducing coolant consumption and waste disposal. All
Master Chemical products feature full use and content labeling, and complete MSDSinformation is available. The corporation invests extensively in the research anddevelopment of environmentally-sound, user-friendly products, and develops specialformulations to meet regional regulations and requirements.
